Mr. Don Heath has always had a love for learning, exploring, and making new friends. Mr. Heath moved to Vernal with his family in 1989 when he was five years old and attended all of his K-12 education in Uintah School District. Mr. Heath graduated from Uintah High School in 2003.
Mr. Heath loves exploring and spends his free time hiking at Dinosaur National Monument, mountaineering and climbing 14ers in Colorado, traveling, and having adventures in Utah’s beautiful national parks with his wife and daughter. After graduating from Uintah High School, Mr. Heath learned Spanish in Mendoza, Argentina. Mr. Heath studied at Utah State University and Southern Utah University. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology, a minor in Spanish, and also has a master’s degree in educational leadership. Mr. Heath has spent the last ten years of his career working in public education. Mr. Heath taught biology for five years, was a vice principal for three years, and has just completed his second year as principal at Lapoint Elementary School in Uintah School District. In the summer, Mr. Heath works for Lindblad National Geographic in Southeast Alaska as an Expedition Leader.
Mr. Heath is proud to work in public education and is so excited to be the next principal at Valley High School! He looks forward to meeting everyone, learning about your rich history, and being a part of such an incredible and successful school. Go Buffalos!
