Kane County students continue to take advantage of university courses through the concurrent enrollment programs offered by Dixie State, Snow College, and Weber State University. Students can begin enrolling in university classes in the 9th grade with most of the college courses available to 11th and 12th graders. High school students can take courses for a cost of $5.00 per credit compared to $343 for an adult student at SUU. For the fall 2021 semester, the district had 107 students enrolled in 223 classes and earned 773 college credits. Over the past five years we have seen a 1,020% increase in the number of college credits earned by high school students. I would like to congratulate the student on their academic accomplishments in their university classes. This year we have several students on track to earn their associate degree and general educational certificates.
