Kane County School District continues to improve student and parent resources for social and emotional wellness. Recently the KCSD applied for a competitive grant from the Utah State Board of Education to receive funding for a new district elementary school counselor position. The grant will provide $50,000 per year for three years to provide elementary counseling services and federal funds will be used to cover the additional costs to staff the full-time position. We are pleased to announce that Irene Olmstead has been hired to be the district elementary school counselor. Ms. Olmstead is currently an elementary school counselor at Jeremy Ranch Elementary School in Park City. She has also taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades during her career and currently holds a Utah Professional School Counselor License. Ms. Olmstead is excited to move to our district. We would like to extend a special welcome to Ms. Olmstead.
