The Kane County School District will hold its official budget hearing for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) to adopt the district budget for the upcoming school year.

The public is welcome to attend and offer comments. During the hearing, a presentation will be provided to explain budget comparisons across FY25, FY26, and the proposed FY27 budget.
Tax Rate Highlights:
- No Tax Increases: The Kane County School District budget includes no tax increases for the upcoming fiscal year.
- Low Tax Burden: KCSD maintains the 8th lowest tax levy out of the 41 school districts across the state.
- Below State Average: The district’s current tax rate is .004214, well below the state average of .005457, with the highest tax rate for a school district being Emery at .008671.
