Update on new KES progress

We would like to provide an update on the progress of the new elementary school in Kanab. Kane School District has issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) for a Construction Manager/General Contractor where we received proposals from five highly qualified firms. After an extensive review of the proposals and multiple reference checks by the selection committee, Hughes General Contractors (https://www.hughesgc.com/)  was selected by the district. The next step in the process is for the district to contract with an architectural firm. Kane School District is currently advertising for Architectural & Engineering services, requesting those interested to submit their Statement of Interest and Qualifications (SIOQ) to the district by March 10th. After we receive the Architectural SIOQ proposals, the Kane County School Board will conduct interviews to select the architectural firm for the new elementary school. On April 14, 2020 Kane County School Board of Education will approve the architectural firm’s contract and have Hughes General Contractors ready to begin the design phase of the new elementary school. We anticipate the Kane County Board of Education will likely select the site location after they have had an opportunity to meet with the General Contract and Architectural firm. We will keep the public informed on the timelines and development of the new school.
