Online Education/Right to Know

With new legislation, Parents and Students are given options for completing course work online for graduation.  Following are the options available to parents/students, if you have any questions, please contact your school counselor.

College-level courses from third party providers either offered by a student’s current school district or charter school, or independent of their current school district or charter school.(EDNET)

Online courses offered directly to high school students by their current school district or charter school.

Third party providers offering online courses through a student’s current school district or charter school for free or for a fee. This includes the KSD partnership with BYU Independent Education program.

Online classes offered directly to students by private providers for a fee.

Online classes taken for credit recovery.

Public Education Online– courses initiated through a Course Credit Acknowledgement (CCA) to be fulfilled by a Provider LEA outside a student’s current school district or charter school.

RIGHT TO KNOW

Parents/Guardians: According to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), you have the right to know the professional qualifications of your student’s classroom teacher.  If you are interested in obtaining this information, please contact your school principal.
