The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) Board of Trustees recently passed the first consideration of regions for 2023-25. The initial placement proposals can be found on the UHSAA website and the Kane School District’s Facebook page. For all extra-curricular activities except football, it is proposed Kanab High School will be 2A in region 18 with Enterprise, Beaver, Millard, Parowan, South Sevier, Water Canyon, and St. George Academy. Valley High School would be in 1A region 20 with Bryce Valley, Diamond Ranch, Escalante, Milford, Panguitch, Piute, Wayne, and Lava Heights Academy. In the football-only alignment, Kanab would be in the 1A South region with Beaver, Enterprise, Milford, and Parowan. It is interesting to note 9 schools will be participating in 8-player football. A public hearing will be held virtually over Zoom on December 14, 2022, at 7:00 pm.
