Concurrent Enrollment Registration begins April 14th

Concurrent enrollment allows students who are in 9-12 grades to enroll in college classes and receive college and high school credit for the course. Students pay $15.00 for a 3-credit course and need to purchase the course textbook. A recent study by the Utah System of Higher Education found one of the top predictors of college success is completing the first year of college. At the same time, the student attends high school through concurrent enrollment. With the passing of Senate Bill 136 in the 2021 Legislative session, the New Century Scholarship ends this year, and the Opportunity Scholarship will take its place. Completion of a concurrent enrollment class in math, science, and language arts is required to receive the scholarship. The additional requirements for the Opportunity Scholarship are as follows:

GPA

  • Same as Regents’ Scholarship: 3.3 cumulative GPA

3 Advanced Courses

  • Complete 1 AP, IB, or CE course in all three core areas of high school graduation: math, science, language arts

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Graduate from a Utah high school

Eliminated Requirements:

  • A growing list of prescribed courses throughout all 4 years of high school
    • Minimum ACT score
    • These changes take effect fall on 2021

Students will have the opportunity to register for concurrent enrollment (college classes) beginning on April 14 for Snow College.  It is imperative to have students register on April 14because they typically reach maximum capacity on the first day of registration. Please place April 14 on your calendars to have students enroll in concurrent enrollment courses.  For every concurrent enrollment class a student receives credit for, it is equivalent to a $600.00 savings.  If you have questions, please contact your high school counselor for additional information.
