Academic Success in Utah

A recent report from Consumer Affairs ranked state education systems across four categories: kindergarten through twelfth grade performance, school funding, higher education, and school safety. While Utah placed thirty-ninth overall, the state stood out in one essential area: kindergarten through twelfth grade performance ranked fifth in the nation. This metric includes graduation rates, SAT and ACT scores, and national reading and math assessments for fourth and eighth-grade students. Utah’s strong academic outcomes, despite ranking forty-sixth in funding, reflect the extraordinary dedication of our educators. Their work is creating results that matter deeply to students, families, and our community.

The key takeaway is clear: Utah achieves more student academic success with fewer funding resources. We have a high-performing public education system where taxpayer dollars are used wisely to deliver high-quality learning experiences for all students.

I would like to personally thank every employee in our district, parents, and the community for removing barriers to learning and ensuring our students succeed. What you do each day in our schools makes a lasting difference; we work diligently to show our students that they are valued, supported, and deserving of the very best education.  Thanks for your continued support of our schools in the Kane County School District.
