Kane County Schools utilized time in the summer to complete capital projects on buildings and facilities in preparation for the upcoming school year. Over the course of this summer, the district has been working to complete over $2,000,000 in capital projects across the district. The largest capital projects are as follows:
Kanab Middle School roof replacement $248,632
Kanab High School Announcers Booth $120,000
Kanab High School Track resurfacing $587,158
Valley Elementary sprinkler system $48,650
As a district, we are also working on a plan to remove the old gym and music room at Valley High. The proposed plans include the replacement of the VHS gym, new lunchroom, and music room. As part of the Valley High School project, the KCSD received a competitive grant from the Utah State Board for $2,400,000 to relocate the offices to the front of the building. The grant money will help with a portion of the multi-million-dollar Valley High School Project. As we move forward in the district with capital projects, we will keep the public updated on these projects.
