Students in the Kane County School District continue to take full advantage of concurrent enrollment opportunities, including new programs that lead to industry‑recognized certifications. Last year, in collaboration with Utah Tech University, the district launched an industry-recognized endorsement in Design. At the time, six students enrolled in the program. This year, that number has grown to 22 students who are embracing this unique opportunity.
The design program offers seven concurrent enrollment courses that students can take while still in high school, each at a cost of only five dollars for each class. Through these classes, students gain hands‑on experience with the Adobe Express Suite, learning how to create professional marketing materials for businesses and promote products, and how to market the material on social media. To support their success, Utah Tech provides each student enrolled in the program with a MacBook Pro and an iPad.
I’d like to applaud our students for their initiative in pursuing these concurrent enrollment classes and earning valuable certifications. I also extend heartfelt thanks to Utah Tech University for its continued support of Kane County students. This phenomenal partnership enriches our district and expands educational opportunities that prepare our students for future success in the workforce
