Through a competitive grant awarded by the Utah Legislature in collaboration with The Policy Project, Kane County School District has launched Teen Centers at four school sites: Big Water School, Kanab Middle School, Kanab High School, and Valley High School. These centers are designed to provide students with essential resources in a welcoming and respectful environment. Each Teen Center offers free access to food, clothing, shampoo, soap, and other hygiene items. Students are encouraged to stop by and take what they need, no questions asked. The goal is to ensure that every student feels supported and has what they need to focus on learning and personal growth. The Teen Centers are part of a statewide initiative to remove barriers to education and promote equity across Utah. By meeting basic needs, the centers help students stay engaged in school and build confidence in their daily lives. Kane County School District expresses deep appreciation to the Utah Legislature and The Policy Project for their vision and support. Community members who wish to learn more about the Teen Centers are invited to contact the building administrators.
