As required by Utah law (Utah Code § 53G-10-304(3)(a)), the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, as set out in 4 U.S.C. § 4, is recited daily in each classroom in the District, led by a student assigned by the teacher on a rotating basis. However, student participation in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance is voluntary and every student has the right to choose not to participate, whether for religious or other reasons. Any student may be excused for the year from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance upon written request from the student’s parent, which may be submitted by using this link or by email or other means to school administration. Students should show respect for any student who chooses not to participate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Standards for respect towards the flag of the United States are set out in 4 U.S.C. § 8. If you desire for your student to be excused from participating, please contact your students Principal.
