New KMS Principal Mrs. Mandie Luce has resigned as principal at Kanab Middle School as she has accepted a position with Washington School District. Mrs. Luce has been a valued administrator and we will miss her. We appreciate her leadership skills and the academic success she fostered at KMS. We wish her all the best in her new position and know she will do well wherever she is. Thank you, Mrs. Luce. Kane School District has transferred Mr. Braxton Bateman from Kanab Elementary to fill the vacancy at Kanab Middle School. Mr. Bateman earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2005 and taught 3rd and 5th-grade in the Washington County School District. In 2009 Mr. Bateman earned his Masters degree in Administration where he worked as a Title 1 Site Coordinator in WCSD. Mr. Bateman was hired in 2013 to be the principal of Kanab Elementary where he has worked diligently with the faculty and staff to improve student academic learning and has created a school culture where everyone feels valued with a common vision of success. District Reading Specialist Robin Coleman said, “Mr. Bateman is a leader with vision. From the moment he came to Kanab Elementary he knew the direction and environment he wanted for the school and has been able to accomplish this through a collaborative effort with the teachers and staff.” Kane School District is currently advertising for a full time administrator at Kanab Elementary.
