New Teachers in KCSD

On August 18th, the Kane County School District will welcome students back to the first day of school. We are looking forward to the new school year!  Several new teachers have been hired over the summer including Amber Hooper (KHS/VHS/KMS) Family and Consumer Science, Lynette Lamb (VES) fifth grade, Shaelyn Lamb (VES) fourth grade, Makayla Chamberlain (VES) pre-school, Olivia Holleran (VES) first grade, Karin Peterson (VHS) physical education, Amanda Johnson (KES) kindergarten, Sarah Hollingshead (KES) first grade, Nikolett Button (KMS) counselor.

The largest class in the district is the first grade at Kanab Elementary School, with 93 students, and in Valley, the largest class is 35 students in the first grade.  To accommodate the large classes, we have added two full-time first grade teachers for the 2022-2023 school year.  We have added a part-time preschool teacher at Valley Elementary.  The Kane County School District has increased by approximately 135 students since October 1st of 2021 and continues to grow. We would like to welcome the new families and students to our district and express our appreciation to all the faculty and staff for their time and efforts in preparing for the upcoming school year.
