The construction of the new Kanab Elementary School continues to progress toward the spring of 2023 completion date. If you drive by the construction site, you will notice the vertical contrast in color patterns created by various intensities of sandblasting. Currently, there are 30-50 workers on the construction site each day, where the next projects include placement of curb and gutter around the school and parking lots, metal framing continues from the gym area moving north through the building. Roof joists and steel framing continue in the last section of the building. A formal review of the school security infrastructure and systems has been reviewed by the architect, general contractor, law enforcement, and the district. We anticipate all concrete walls will be in place by mid-July. We are anxiously awaiting the opening of the new school and continue to work diligently for its completion.
